  So this is what a Michelin-recognized dining experience feels like. We came here absolutely starving after spending hours at more wedding gown fittings for my daughter. She was the one who found this place, and I’m so glad she did. What we thought would be a light late lunch quickly turned into a feast. As usual, we over-ordered—enough food for three or four people when it was just the two of us—so we ended up taking leftovers home. That certainly wasn’t because the food wasn’t good. Quite the opposite. Every dish we ordered was incredibly flavorful, beautifully presented, and surprisingly delicious. It’s easy to see why this restaurant has earned Michelin recognition for four consecutive years. The quality speaks for itself. The restaurant is small and can feel a little chaotic because it’s always packed, but once the food arrives, you understand why. It’s the kind of place people happily wait for. If you’re looking for exceptional food that’s both visually stunning and genuinely satisfying, this place absolutely delivers. I left very impressed, and I would definitely come back the next time I’m in Ho Chi Minh City.

  We were recommended this place by friends and didn’t realise how popular it would be amongst tourists as it’s down a little alley. We were hooked by the first mouthful of lunch, returning for dinner that same day! We ate there again almost every other day until our departure. The food is full of flavour and cooked very well.   I had bánh xèo and iced tea for 238,000 VND. Not too cheap if you compared to local price but for a tourist/foreigner it's got a comfortable environment and good service. Food portion was big too. The dish is meant for two and I had to takeaway my leftover. Pedat was really thoughtful and immediately noticed I needed help figuring out how hot to eat the food properly and offered to show me the proper way.   What a fantastic dining experience at Bếp Mẹ Ỉn - Lê Thánh Tôn! We arrived around 7:30pm, and because it’s such a popular spot, it was completely packed. The staff suggested we return at 8:30pm, which we did, and we were seated almost immediately. (It really is a hot spot. By 8:30pm, they were already turning people away because they were at full capacity and couldn't serve any more customers before closing!) We ordered the Bánh Xèo Tôm Thịt, Bò Lụi, Thịt Heo Chiên Mè Ống Tre, and two 333 beers. It was so interesting to learn that serving beer over ice is a Vietnamese tradition. I’ve done it at home before, but now I know it’s the local way! The food arrived quickly and everything was absolutely delicious. Since it’s our first time traveling to Vietnam, we weren't entirely sure how to properly assemble or eat the dishes. Two incredibly friendly staff members, Jadie and Emmi, completely went the extra mile for us. They put on food gloves and gave us a hands-on demonstration to show us exactly how it's done. We loved chatting with Jadie and Emmi. Their warmth and joyful energy truly elevated our entire evening. We are so incredibly glad we spent our night dining here. Highly recommend!
