We also got the beef jerky which is different from what we’re used to, but it’s good. It was also good for a big group on a Monday at 6pm… lots of space.   An interesting Cocktail bar. Feels like a speakeasy with classic cocktails in a retro setting. The menu was extensive and they had a great list of spirits. We came in as soon as they opened on a weekday. They did have a happy hour deal going on. The drinks were interesting, but they just weren’t really amazing. I had tried an Ube cocktail that was inspired from the Philippines. I think that they should change the ice that was used as a pebbled ice on this drink didn’t compliment the flavors. The atmosphere and service was very good. I would come back the next time. I’m in Hanoi and maybe order something else.

  After a long day on a cruise tour, we returned to the city quite late and originally planned to have dinner at 4P’s Pizza, but they were no longer accepting customers. Wandering aimlessly through the streets, we stumbled upon Polite—a bar that happened to be on my travel list. So we decided to walk in for drinks and a bite to eat. To our surprise, they also served pizza, and we went with the seafood one. The bartender confidently said it was even better than 4P’s—and honestly, it really was delicious! The bartender’s English wasn’t perfect, so there were a few small misunderstandings at first, but nothing serious. We ordered several cocktails from the menu, and all of them were excellent. Later, I started using a translation app to communicate in Vietnamese, and the bartender immediately understood and even made some customized drinks for us. That was truly impressive. My husband and I ended up having 6-7 cocktails and having a really wonderful night here. Thank you to the bartender for making it such a great experience!

  We really liked the place but I do agree with a lot of the reviews about the service. Don’t get me wrong, they are attentive and there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with them, but it lacks a friendly vibe- a smile or a laugh would go a long way. We went a couple times because I liked the cocktails and it is the nicest place we’ve found in Hanoi for atmosphere. It’s also nicely air conditioned which is a must when it’s 37 degrees out! I do recommend it but to the staff, I say, just have some personality! Look like you are having fun instead of looking like a bunch of robots! The cocktails are excellent and the pizza was delicious. Highly recommend.

  Not a very pleasant first visit. The menu was very interactive and interesting but the drinks were not impressive. Other than being too sweet I can’t explain what else is there in the cocktail. Could work on the flavours of the drink instead of sugar. Pho mojito was nothing but too sweet, it has a nice creamy texture but that was about it, nothing "pho-ish" where I could taste besides tad bit of sourness. Could have worked better on the herbs. The drinks quality could have been bad due to the overwhelming crowd - took 30 mins for each cocktail to be ready as well. Very nice of the bartender to offer a shot of chocolate liqueur as I got a bit tired of waiting. The beautiful part of a speakeasy bar is that you get to enjoy every single drink, and the wait time is not too long. It's the exclusivity that they do not have, it's more like a pub than a cocktail bar. Another thing that made me feel extremely uncomfortable is that they allow smoking in the premise. The music is loud like a club, it's smokey - people are smoking cigarettes and cigar. The place is not very big either - just a shoplot and to endure the amount of second hand smoke in this small little shop, it's a total killer. So this is another reason that they do not fit in the speakeasy category. Prices are relatively higher than other cocktail bars I’ve visited too, and it does not justify the price. Or at least the two drinks i’ve had, did not justify. However, I would love to try another time to properly be able to tell if this place is worth the time and money or not. Could give a second chance if I do return to Hanoi, but probably earlier in the day when it is not too crowded.

  Atmosphere was very nice, service was a bit slow but staff was kind and professional. The signature cocktails however were all bland and kind of same-tasting. With ingredients like mezcal, grapefruit and gochujang we were expecting that drink to have big flavours, but it just tasted like grapefruit soda. All the signnature cocktails we tried were like that, not bad but flat compared to what the ingredients promised.
